Today, at the Final Fantasy XI Fan fest in Japan, it was revealed that the Final Fantasy XI Taru-Taru character, Shantotto will be playable in Dissidia!
Shantotto is the first of several secret characters to be revealed.

Famitsu publisher Enterbrain are releasing a magazine and DVD bundle that will show the contents of DKΣ3713 party, (newest trailer) and 'play footage' [assuming this is gameplay]
Releases 13th December in Japan
A week after that, is Jump Festa, where Final Fantasy 13 has also been confirmed to be on show in video form
So in december it's pretty likely we'll FINALLY see gameplay.
